Podľa času a možností sem budem pridávať maturitné otázky  k jednotlivým témam s tým, že pracujeme výhradne s knihou YES! Vložila by som aj klasické pomocké obrázky, ale mám ich vo veľmi zlej kvalite tak ak niekto môže týmto prispieť stačí napísať a ja Vám dodám administrátorské heslo na túto stránku. Budem teda pridávať Task2 a Task3.

1. FAMILY

- In your opinion what makes good parents. Describe your family, which member of your family are you closest to and why? Give some characteristic features of him/her.

- Your friend from Great Britain is staying in Slovakia with your family during Chrismas. Give him some information about typical customs and traditions of this holiday.

2. CULTURE AND ART

- Describe your last visit to the theatre or cinema. Where you got ticket from, interior of the place, type of performance, your feeling and impressions.

- You would like to have a pet in your flat. Your parents are against it. Try to persuade them to let you have one. Give 3-4 arguments.

3. SPORTS AND GAMES

- Why is sport so important for human beings? Describe your attitude to sport and sport facilities in your home town.

- Persuade your friend not to spend so much money for advertised products.

4. HOUSING

- Describe your own home (house / flat, surroundings, sport, cultural and shopping facilities).

- Your friend from Great Britain is staying in Slovakia with your family during Easter. Give him some information about typical customs and traditions of this holiday.

5. SHOPPING AND SERVICES

- Characterize shopping facilities in Bratislava and say which you use most oftn and why. What services does your family use? Do any of them need improvement?

- You want to go on holiday to Great Britain. Try to persuade a friend of yours to go with you. Present 3-4 arguments.

6. HEALTH CARE

- What are some of the things we should and shouldn´t do to stay healthy? Think of these aspects: diet, smoking and drinking, exercise, work etc.

- Explain your friend why you don´t like one of your classmates and which characteristics and behaviour is not ecceptable for you?

7. TRAVELLING

- What are the means of transportation, their advantages and disadvantages? Which of them do you use most often and why?

- Your parents have arguments with you about not reading books and spending too much time watching TV, video and playing computer games. Try to persuade them that their opinion are old fashioned.

8. EDUCATION

- Place your school into the system of education in Slovakia and describe your school. What can influence a student´s school results and how?

- Advise your friend who is going to study at Hotel Academy what items of uniform he / she will need.

9. JOBS

- Sum up the steps which must be taken in the process of looking for a job.

- Persuade your friend that it would be better to spend your holidays at the seaside and not in the mountains. Why to go on holidays abroad instead of spending it in Slovakia? Choose one of the possibilities.

10. HUMAN RELATIONSHIPS

- What do you think of the saying: " A friend in need is a frien indeed."  What are the qualities of a good friendship? Speak about a frend of yours. What do you like about him / her? And what about negative points? Try to explain why you get on well together.

- You are in a class wher your Romany classmate is bullied. Try to persuade the others that it is immoral.

11. PEOPLE AND NATURE

- Which are the most serious ecological problems of today? What can you personally do to protect the enviroment?

- Imagine you are organizing a birthday party for about 15 people. Inform your parents how you would like to prepare it ( food, programme, decorations...)

12. SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY

- Which of these technological inventions has had the most effect on people´s lives - the telephone, the computer or the television? Mention positive and negative effects.

- You are going to a open a restaurant. Think about a newspaper or radio advertisment for it. Give the restaurant a name and describe some of it´s specialities.

13. PEOPLE AND SOCIETY

 - What do you think of a saying: " When in Rome, do as the Roman do." Give some examples of good behaviour when meeting, introducing people, good table maners. Compare with some customs and etiquette of other countries.

- You want to live on your own. You know your parents will be upset. Try to persuade your parents to len you do that. Give 4-5 arguments.

14.COMMUNICATION AND LANGUAGES

-  Characterize the types of communication ( verbal, non-verbal, modern forms of communication). Which do you use the most often and at what occasions?

- It´s Friday evening and you would like to spend a comfortable evening in front of the TV. There´s one problem. You want to watch a film and your friends likes sports. Persuade him/ her to watch a film. Try to present 3-4 arguments.

15. MASS MEDIA

- What are the pros and cons of watching TV? What is your own attitude to watching TV and reading newspapers and magazines?

- You would like to improve your English to be able to communicate better in this language. Persuade your parents to give your money for a language course in England. Try to present 3-4 arguments.

16. THE YOUNG AND THEIR WORLD

- What is the generation gap and what do children and parents complain about each other? What is the most common cause of conflicts in your family?

- You have a new classmate. Explain him/her the rules which are in your school and what punishment he gets for breaking them.

17. FOOD

- Compare Slovak cuisine with some other famous foreign cuisines.

- You think that young people should have a computer / internet at home. Try to present 3 or 4 arguments to persuade your parents to buy you one.
